Julia Sakas is an experienced and award-winning communications, marketing and public relations professional specializing in strategy, branding, digital marketing, public and media relations, and issues management. As a leader, she is passionate about making creative ideas come to life and motivating teams to think progressively and pursue excellence.
Julia began her career in politics in 2005, leading communications and public relations for several Ontario Cabinet Ministers and forming part of the communications team for the former Premier of Ontario. She entered the economic development space in 2012, leading marketing and communications for the previous investment attraction agency for the City of Toronto, Invest Toronto, before the agency expanded its mandate in 2016 to represent the entire Toronto Region under a new entity, called Toronto Global. Julia and her team developed a brand, visual identity, marketing strategy and digital lead generation strategy for Toronto Global that won the agency multiple awards, enhanced its international reputation and set it apart from its global competitors.
