Nick Duerksen is the Economic Development Director of Sandy City and Director of the Redevelopment Agency of Sandy City. He is a graduate of Utah State University and has worked for Sandy City for over 25 years. Nick has extensive experience in land development and negotiations. Major developments include Jordan Commons, the South Towne Expo Center, and Real Salt Lake’s Rio Tinto Stadium, inContact, Scheels, Hale Center Theatre, East Village and Mountain America Credit Union corporate headquarters. Most recently Nick has worked to bring new mixed use and transit oriented concepts including residential, office, retail, hospitality, cultural and entertainment development to Sandy's downtown area known as The Cairns. Nick is an active member of many professional associations both locally and nationally. Outside interests include history, Corvettes and the A-3 Skywarrior Association.
