Mark Barbash has 30+ years of economic development experience, in a range of development fields, including urban and neighborhood development, and development finance and incentives. In addition to his economic development consulting practice, Mark is a lecturer at the John Glenn College at the Ohio State University, with a focus on public finance and budgeting. Over his career, he has had senior level management experience, including Columbus (Ohio) Director of Development, Ohio Chief Economic Development Officer, and Vice President of the National Development Council. His experience also includes the Council of Development Finance Agencies (CDFA), Finance Fund (a CDFI and small business lender), Executive Director of Community Capital Development Corporation, a non-profit SBA 504 lender, and on Capitol Hill working for a U.S. Senator and Congressman from Wisconsin. Mark is a nationally recognized economic development trainer and serves on the board of the Ohio Economic Development Association. He is a prior member of the Board of the International Economic Development Council. In addition, he serves on the Board of CATCO, Central Ohio’s equity theater, and Thoughtwell, a nonprofit community research firm. Mark is a recipient of IEDC’s prestigious Fellow Member recognition.
