Dr Byrne is an endorsed Clinical and Forensic Psychologist with over 30 years applied experience. He is also a tenured academic at the University of Wollongong with an extensive research background in applied areas, such as PTSD, Autism, Treatment Adherence, Antimicrobial Resistance, amongst others. Dr Byrne’s wealth of clinical and forensic experience extends to assessment and treatment, including a range of mental health disorders as well as strategies for chronic disease management. Dr Byrne has led services in the areas of disability across two states in Australia, managed adult mental health services in a UK Trust, and been Director of Clinical Training at the University of Wollongong. Forensically, he is an experienced provider of expert testimony in court, and frequently is called upon to give evidence in criminal, family and children’s court matters. He also advises tribunals.
