Since joining NCDS in 1995, Tom DiFiore has directed campaigns as an on-site campaign director; supervised NCDS staff as vice president of project operations; and helped develop new clients and markets as a senior officer. Because of his “up-close and personal” experience with hundreds of campaigns and feasibility analyses, he offers NCDS’ clients valuable insight and knowledge of all fundraising issues. Tom’s and NCDS’ experience and expertise in developing, positioning, and funding initiatives that require financial support from private and public stakeholders have helped establish the firm as a national leader in its industry. He is particularly skilled in the “process engineering” required to galvanize leaders around programs and initiatives that strive to create new prosperity and opportunity for communities and organizations. Tom’s influence can be seen on a number of successful projects and organizations in places such as Joplin, MO; suburban Nashville; Raleigh, NC; Bloomington-Normal, IL; Missoula, MT; and Mobile, AL. His involvement in campaigns that have raised hundreds of millions of dollars for a wide range of projects is a great source of pride and satisfaction for Tom. He has also helped enhance the work of NCDS’Economic Strategy Center, which produces customized economic impact analyses to demonstrate ROI to investors in NCDS funding campaigns. Tom earned a B.A. in economics from the University of Virginia and a M.B.A. from Georgia State University. He has served on the Board of Directors of The Giving Institute, which establishes professional and ethical standards for the fundraising industry.He is also a frequent speaker and presenter at conferences of Chamber & Economic Development Associations.Tom is a native Atlantan, where he lives with his wife, Kristine and their children, Grace, Luke and Lily.
