Executive Director
Wilmington Renaissance Corporation
Wilmington, DE

Since 2005, Dr. Carrie W. Gray has served as the Managing Director of Wilmington Renaissance Corporation (WRC). In this role, she works closely with the board of directors, staff and key partners to accomplish the organization’s goal of “bringing big ideas to life.”

In May 2014, WRC announced its most ambitious project in its 24-year history – to establish a Creative District in the underutilized neighborhood west of Market Street, facilitating the revitalization of the neighborhood and infusing new residential and unique work-space opportunities for current residents, artists, makers and tech innovators.

Dr. Gray has worked for WRC for 20 years and her responsibilities have included managing the corporation's public, community and media relations; management of public art programs; contributing to the redevelopment of the LOMA neighborhood; managing the real estate portfolio; coordinating fundraising initiatives for the organization and managing staff and internal operations.

Dr. Gray is a highly engaged member of the community, having served on a number of boards and advisory councils. She is also adjunct faculty at the University of Delaware and at Wilmington University.

Dr. Gray holds a Doctor of Business Administration from Wilmington University, a Master of Science in Public Relations from the S.I. Newhouse School of Communications at Syracuse University and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Elon University.
