Rebecca Karp is an urban planner and founder of Karp Strategies, a NYC-based WBE/DBE strategy consulting firm specializing in urban planning, community-economic development, and public policy. She founded the firm following nearly a decade of experience in policy, program management, and operations roles in both the private and public sector including at the NYC Economic Development Corporation, the NYC Department of Small Business Services, and the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey. Karp has extensive experience leading multi-stakeholder projects, many of which have centered on economic development programs that have the potential to alter the economic outcomes of neighborhoods and cities. She has firsthand experience building inclusive economies, from advocating for out of work fishermen in coastal Maine to evaluating career pathways for disempowered populations. Karp and her team regularly apply innovative community engagement and visioning strategies to economic development projects, helping clients to holistically evaluate and successfully tackle problems.
