Ryan has worked in economic development for 8 years in Virginia, Illinois, and Florida. He's most passionate about building entrepreneurial ecosystems, and to-date he has individually assisted over 1,000 entrepreneurs in the communities he has been a part of. Ryan graduated from Virginia Tech where he studied entrepreneurship and first began working at an on-campus business accelerator. He earned a certificate in Serial Innovation from the University of Illinois BIS program and has received training from IEDC, the Rural Policy Research Institute's Center for Entrepreneurship (RUPRI), and the Kauffman Foundation. In 2015 he received a Certificate in Business Incubation Management from the International Business Innovation Association (iNBIA). He enjoys writing and speaking on how communities can best serve entrepreneurs and grow their economies.
