In his role as Director of Business Development for North Carolina’s Southeast, Joe Melvin utilizes his business and public administration experience to oversee regional economic development, marketing, and business development initiatives. Joe also manages projects and contributes to regional strategic development and planning. His background includes positions with state and local government, as well as the administration of federal programs. Joe received his B.A. in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his M.A. in Education Administration from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. In January 2018, the International Economic Development Council awarded him its CEcD designation, the preeminent professional certification among the world’s economic development practitioners.
