Maria leads the initiative to make Kansas City America’s most entrepreneurial city, resulting in an increase of available capital to $1B in less than 2 years and putting the city on the worldwide map as an entrepreneurial epicenter. She brought significant funding into the Kansas City ecosystem from federal, state, local and private sources, demonstrating the knowledge of not only how to build an entrepreneurial infrastructure, but how to fund it. Maria also operates the national SourceLink affiliate network that reaches from Seattle to San Juan, working with both very small communities and very large cities. Maria’s book, Beyond Collisions, Building an Entrepreneurial Infrastructure, describes actionable steps communities can take to build the infrastructure entrepreneurs need to thrive.
