Jackson is the SVP of Public Policy for the Birmingham Business Alliance (BBA) – the lead economic development organization for the seven-county Birmingham Metropolitan Area. Jackson leads a team responsible for workforce development, regional development and governmental affairs. Jackson has been instrumental in the development of several notable workforce initiatives, including the BBA’s Talent Recruitment Project – an effort to attract and retain early-career talent to Birmingham; the Alabama Workforce Training Center in Birmingham – a construction and manufacturing center for incumbent workers, high school students and the community-at-large; and, the BBA’s effort to secure a $40,000 grant from Lumina Foundation to increase post-secondary attainment in the Birmingham region. He’s participated in several executive workforce programs including, the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives Fellowship for Education Attainment; the U. S. Chamber’s Talent Pipeline Management Academy; the Community Leaders Forum of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors; and, the National Skills Coalition’s recent Southern Skills Policy Report. He serves on the board of the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives; is a graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham and was a 2014 Birmingham Business Journal Top 40 Under 40 honoree.
