Rick L. Weddle is the President and CEO of the Hampton Roads Economic Development Alliance. In this role, he leads the operations of a regional organization representing the communities that make up Virginia’s Hampton Roads region. Weddle’s career in economic development also includes serving as President and CEO regional development organizations in Orlando, FL, Phoenix, AZ, Toledo, OH and Stockton, CA. He also served as CEO of North Carolina’s Research Triangle Park (RTP). An active speaker and leader in numerous economic development and science park organizations, Mr. Weddle has served as the President of the International Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation (IASP). He has been active in the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) since its inception, serving as its first Chairman in 2002 and is a recipient of their lifetime achievement award.
