Jessica Abralind, LEED AP has served as the Green Building Planner for Arlington County for the past 8 years, where she facilitates the development of green buildings in Arlington through the County’s Green Building Density Incentive Policy. Jessica coordinates with a variety of stakeholders including business leaders, environmental experts and advocates, residents, and political leaders to develop, assess, and implement the County’s green building program. This has led to the development of more than 30 LEED certified commercial and residential developments in Arlington which are saving millions of kilowatt-hours of energy and millions of gallons of water each year. Most recently, Jessica worked to secure the U.S. Green Building Council’s prestigious LEED for Communities Platinum designation for Arlington, demonstrating the County’s leadership in sustainability.

With 14 years of experience in sustainability, Jessica previously worked for a sustainability consulting firm, assisting private companies and government agencies achieve LEED green building certification. She guided clients through the certification process of over 40 project buildings, including the LEED Gold certification of Edison Place, the first LEED for Existing Buildings: Operations and Maintenance certified building in Washington, DC. Jessica also worked for Whole Foods Market, where she was responsible for implementing recycling, composting, green cleaning, and other sustainability programs in DC-area stores.

Jessica has her Master’s of Science in Environmental Science and Policy from John Hopkins University.
