Walking directions will be available in the lobby of all four conference hotels. The Huntington Convention Center has 2 entrances; through the Global Center for Health Innovation (closest entrance to conference hotels) at the corner of St. Clair Avenue and West Mall Drive, and through the main entrance to the convention center on Lakeside Avenue between West Mall Drive and East Mall Drive.

Travel

If you're flying into the city, Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE) is approximately 14 miles from downtown to the Westin Cleveland Downtown, the Hyatt Regency at the Arcade and the Cleveland Convention Center. Taxis will be available.

For a quick, convenient ride to your downtown hotel take a 20 minute ride on RTA's Redline Passenger Rail Service from a stop within Cleveland Hopkins International Airport to the center of Downtown Cleveland and the location of the conference. The Red Line operates 7 days a week from 4:00am to 12:30am and costs $2.50 per person”

Downtown Cleveland has seen a revitalization over the past five years with billions of investment that includes the conversion of vacant office towers to exquisite mixed use development projects that are 100% occupied; construction of a new convention center, beautiful parks, waterfront development while getting an opportunity to see Cleveland's food scene by visiting the locally-owned restaurants and cafés. The tour will explore these new and repurposed gems while providing the opportunity for attendees to get familiar with Downtown Cleveland prior to the start of the annual conference! Great start to add steps to your fit bit!

Volunteer Service Project

Saturday, September 24 | 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Price: Free, but registration is required

To celebrate the IEDC Annual Conference, up to 50 adult volunteers are invited to assist restoration efforts in one of Cleveland Metroparks' largest conservation efforts of an urban watershed. Join your peers as we journey to the Acacia Reservation, a 155-acre green space oasis among a significantly congested area of the City of Lyndhurst. Transportation from the Huntington Convention Center of Cleveland will be provided.

During this event, you'll get to spend time with IEDC's President and CEO, Jeffrey Finkle, CEcD. Pitch in. Lend a hand. Join us for this special volunteer service project as we kick-start the 2016 IEDC Annual Conference. This event is free, and is open to the general public.

IEDC Pre-conference Boot Camp

Event location: Mall C, across the street from the Lakeside entrance of the Huntington Convention Center

Start off your IEDC conference right, with a free boot camp provided by the personal trainers of locally based EFS Personal Training right outside of the Cleveland Convention Center. Take in the incredible vistas of Downtown Cleveland and Lake Erie, while being lead in group exercises with fellow IEDC attendees designed to energize and prepare you for the conference's activities and events. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend, multiple personal trainers will be in attendance providing activities for all levels of fitness to accommodate all attendees. City of Cleveland will provide local fresh tap water to refresh!
