The time is now to make your entry for an IEDC Excellence in Economic Development Award. Looking for some tips to ensure your entry is one of a kind? What do judges look for?

- A completed, correct form
- Measurable results: quantitative and qualitative
- Key characteristics, is it duplicable?
- A clear purpose
- Was it successful?

Advice from a previous winner:

- You don't have to be a large organization to win
- Follow instructions exactly
- Give judges the essentials up front

Take a look at the awards categories overview to see where your project might fit. All submissions must be postmarked by May 12, with the exception of the Innovation in Economic Development Week category, which has a special deadline of June 2.

Promotional
These awards recognize innovative and effective marketing materials used for attracting, retaining and fostering business as well as communications vehicles used by economic development organizations.

Internet & New Media
These awards recognize exceptional and inventive use of the Internet and new media - including podcasts, blogs, wikis, extranet and intranets - for economic development.

Program
These awards recognize outstanding and pioneering programs in economic and business development.

Partnership
These awards recognize significant partnerships formed to support economic development and the results achieved by working together.

Leadership
These awards recognize outstanding leaders in the public and private sectors who are advancing economic development in their communities.
