Emily Scott is an Economic Development Program Officer at Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) in Indianapolis. Emily oversees the FOCUS program which works to provide technical assistance, human resources, and financial support to businesses and real estate within underutilized commercial and industrial corridors within urban Indianapolis. She also supports LISC’s commercial and industrial lending work in Indianapolis and oversees the small business façade and property improvement grant program. Prior to joining LISC, Emily worked at nonprofit Riley Area Development Corporation as a district manager for a 500+ acre industrial district taking on the redevelopment of a vacant industrial site and launched Indianapolis first large scale nonprofit makerspace, Ruckus. Emily is a member of the Urban Manufacturing Alliance, the Urban Land Institute, serves on the Industrial Reuse subcommittee of the Indy East Promise Zone, the City of Indianapolis Industrial Redevelopment Working Group, the Renew Indianapolis Commercial and Industrial landbank review committee and is a board member of Source River West Entrepreneurship Center. Emily was invited to participate in IndyHub’s 1828 young leaders class in 2017 and was a Plan 2020 CityCorps Fellow for the City of Indianapolis in 2015. Emily received her Masters of Public Affairs from Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) and her B.A. in political science from Purdue University.
