Ford Weber is the Director of Economic Development for the City of Dayton. Immediately prior to coming to Dayton, Ford was Director of Economic Development for Lucas County. Ford is a native of Toledo and earned a BS in History from the University of Toledo and a JD from the UT College of Law. Ford obtained his Certification in Economic Development (CEcD) from the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) in December 2010.

Ford practiced law full-time for fourteen years in both the private and public sectors before transitioning his career to economic and community development. Ford has served in a number of senior positions with the City of Toledo, and the City of Roanoke, Virginia. Ford also headed the Richmond, Virginia office of Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), a national non-profit community development organization for three years. Under Ford’s leadership, the City of Toledo obtained $7.7 million in Federal and State brownfield grants. More recently, the City of Dayton has received a $400,000 brownfield assessment grant from U.S. EPA.

Ford served as President of NORED (Northwest Ohio Regional Economic Development Association) from 2012-2013, and is a former member of the Board of Trustees for the YMCA/JCC of Greater Toledo. While in Virginia, Ford served on Governor Tim Kaine’s Foreclosure Prevention Task Force. Ford recently authored Worstville, a novel depicting an effort to revitalize an urban community.
