Kurtis Wells is the Marketing and Events Coordinator for the Economic Development department at the City of Guelph – fastest growing mid-size city in Canada (Conference Board of Canada, 2019). He joined the City of Guelph in 2017 following five years with the City of Brampton.

Kurtis is responsible for overseeing all marketing and communications materials that come out of Economic Development. A few of the responsibilities include: coordinating social media, preparation of marketing materials, preparation and distribution of the award-winning Mind Your Business e-newsletter, coordinating news releases, event planning, BR+E marketing, and more. During his time here with the City of Guelph, the Economic Development team has won three IEDC Excellence in Economic Development Awards, including: one in the gold category (Hanlon Creek Business Park Phase One Sales Video – Video/Multimedia Promotion), one in the silver category (2017 Economic Snapshot – General Purpose Print Promotion), and one in the bronze category (Downtown Community Improvement Plan – Neighbourhood Development).
