Vice President, Enterprise Operational Risk Management
Ms. Coman is a Vice-President with Wells Fargo Corporation in Charlotte, NC. She serves as a strategy consultant in operational risk management. Over her career, Ms. Coman has worked with both public and private sector clients to improve performance against their financial and social goals, assisting them in strategic planning, market analysis and organizational change. Before joining Wells Fargo, she led The Coman Company where she worked with a variety of companies, communities and organizations to analyze their operations and plan for the future. At McKinsey and Company, she served as a consultant in growth strategy, marketing strategy and client development. Prior to McKinsey, Ms. Coman worked to develop and promote joint ventures and alliances between US companies and Spanish companies at US Spain Commercial Development Corporation in Washington, DC.
Her expertise includes: Strategic and Operations Planning; Change Management; Business Operations Improvement; Risk Management; Business and Market Development; Interview/Focus Group Facilitation; and Stakeholder Management and Engagement.
Ms. Coman is proud of work in economic development, having served communities across the country to develop and implement strategic plans, analyze cluster opportunities and structure business plans for new ventures. Key projects have included devising a business plan for a new research institute in NC, including anticipated economic impact, drafting a strategic plan for a statewide economic cluster focused on engineering, reconfiguring the balanced scorecard for a public-private EDO and analyzing the potential merger and collaborative opportunities across three EDOs, including shared services. Ms. Coman currently serves as the Vice Chair of the Membership Committee of the International Economic Development Council.
She has been honored as a Marshall Fellow from NC, a 2007 Finalist for the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) Rising Star award, a recipient of a "Women in Business Achievement Award" in 2009 from the Charlotte Business Journal and one of the "50 Most Influential Women" in 2011 from the Mecklenburg Times. She is a graduate of Davidson College (BA), Georgetown University (MA) and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (MBA) and the Economic Development Institute at the University of Oklahoma. She speaks fluent Spanish and conversational Portuguese.
