Arlene Gould is a design management consultant, design researcher and educator. She has been a champion in the business and social community for the value of good design for over twenty-five years. Arlene is the Strategic Director for Ontario’s Design Industry Advisory Committee (DIAC), a non-profit, cross-disciplinary design research group focused on making design a pivotal part of a successful Ontario.

She teaches a Design for Sustainability Workshop course in the Faculty of Environmental Studies at York University. Arlene is also the Academic Coordinator for the Design Management Certificate Program at Ryerson University. She has authored and co-authored a number of research studies on the economic and social impact of design. Arlene is a graduate of London Business School, London, UK. She is a Board Director for Sustainable Buildings Canada, a member of the Registered Graphic Designers of Ontario, and a Fellow of the RSA, London, UK.
