Stephenville Economic Development Authority
Dr. John Hubbard is the executive director of the Stephenville Economics Development Authority. John has over 15 years’ experience working with economic development organizations. Additionally, John is an adjunct professor at the University of North Texas at Dallas and serves as a reflective practitioner in the Department of Economic Development at The University of Southern Mississippi. John received his Ph. D. in Human Capital Development (HCD) at The University of Southern Mississippi. The HCD Department recently honored John with the Dr. David Powe Learning Leader Award for his contributions to helping other doctoral students pursue their degrees. John holds an undergraduate degree from Abilene Christian University, and a Master of Science in Economic Development from The University of Southern Mississippi. John holds certifications as a Certified Economic Developer (CEcD), an Economic Development Finance Professional (EDFP) and Professional Community Economic Developer (PCED). Currently, Dr. Hubbard is part of a community team of local stakeholders that is working closely with the University of North Texas at Dallas to create a Center of Logistics and Trade at the University. John’s other endeavors include board memberships on the Methodist Charlton Medical Center Advisory Board in Dallas, Vice-President of Programs with the Vocal Majority Men’s Chorus, the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) Education Committee, and the Town of Fairview Parks Board.
