Christina has 15+ years experience in Investment Attraction, Business Development, Policy Development, Marketing, and Research. In her role with the City of Markham, Christina identifies and develops relationships with internal and external stakeholders to advance Markham’s strategic economic development priorities including: building a supportive ecosystem for entrepreneurship and innovation and strengthening Markham’s international reputation as a business and investment destination and hub for talent. Christina also brings leadership to the strategic development of Destination Markham. Destination Markham’s purpose is to promote greater awareness of Markham as a preferred place to visit, work, invest, learn, celebrate, and be entertained. Prior to Markham, Christina worked at the City of Toronto’s Economic Development and Culture Department where she held several positions during her 8 year tenure including managing the City’s International Alliance Program. Christina is the 2017 President of the Economic Developers Council of Ontario where she is working with the Board to broaden EDCO’s strategic relationships and ignite dialogue and idea generation with young professionals in economic development. Christina is a graduate of the University of Waterloo’s Master of Applied Environmental Studies in Local Economic Development program and has an undergraduate degree in Urban and Regional Planning from Ryerson University.
