Doug Lindeblom has over 30 years’ experience in economic development with both the public and private sectors. Doug started his career in the real estate field, working through most of the 1980's for a major national broker in commercial and industrial sales and leasing support. He then moved into the public realm, working first for the Town of Ajax in Business Development, before moving on to the Region of Durham as Director of Economic Development and Tourism. He was seconded for two years over this time period to the Greater Toronto Marketing Alliance, a public-private non-profit agency undertaking international investment attraction on behalf of the Greater Toronto Area. In September of 2010, Doug joined York Region as Director, Economic Strategy.
Doug has a planning degree from Ryerson University. He has been involved in board positions for various organizations and agencies over the years, including the Economic Developers Council of Ontario and ventureLAB, one of the Regional Innovation Centres in Ontario. Doug has also taught economic development, most recently through continuing education at Seneca College.
