Regional Director, France and the United Kingdom
In his role as Regional Director for France and the United Kingdom at Toronto Global, Michael is responsible for assisting companies from those two countries to establish operations in the Toronto region. This includes informing them about how the region’s value proposition would be advantageous for the firm to organising tailored visits to allow executives to undertake a closer due diligence to support an expansion to the region. Toronto Global is a government-funded organisation that was established in 2016 to assist foreign companies to establish greenfield operations in the Toronto region, Canada’s largest and which offers companies an excellent pool of talent at reasonable cost and an unparalleled quality of life.
Michael came to Toronto Global from Invest Toronto where he was responsible for working with companies from throughout the United States.
Before joining Invest Toronto in the fall of 2014, Michael represented the Province of Ontario as a Senior Economic Officer in New York City, and prior to that in London, England. In that capacity, he was responsible for developing investment leads for Ontario, working with Ontario exporters and supporting ministerial and business delegations from the province.
Michael offers a wealth of private and public sector experience, including international business development roles for a major telecommunications company and a consulting firm, and work with the United Nations and the international division of Canada’s Department of Finance. In addition, he held a number of leadership roles within the Ontario government that involved engaging with a broad spectrum of businesses. Michael has pursued graduate work in economics in France and Germany and has an MBA from the Rotman School of Business at the University of Toronto.
