MILWAUKEE 7 Regional Economic Development Partnership
Pat O’Brien has been executive director of the Milwaukee 7 Regional Economic Development Partnership (M7) and president of the Milwaukee Development Corporation (MDC), an affiliate organization of the MMAC, since 2004. Pat’s role as executive director of the M7 is to unite the seven counties of southeastern Wisconsin around an agenda to grow, expand and attract world-class business and talent. M7 does this through business retention, expansion and attraction, a global engagement export program, a regional talent initiative and cluster development efforts. His role as president of the MDC is to promote and connect catalytic community based real estate development to local and regional economic development initiatives. Pat also serves as President for the Milwaukee Urban Strategic Investment Corporation (MUSIC). He is a board member with the 30th St. Industrial Corridor, Menomonee Valley Partners, the Mid-West Energy Research Consortium (M-WERC), and the North West Side Partners (NWSP). He currently serves as president of Athletes for Youth, vice president of the board for the Pettit National Ice Center Foundation, and is a board member of the Elmbrook Baseball Association and Elmbrook Little League. Pat spent 18 years with Trammell Crow Company in Houston, Detroit and Milwaukee, as partner and Managing Director of its metro area operations and development business. Pat earned his bachelor’s degree in history from Yale University and his law degree from the University of Virginia Law School.
