Kent Rupert has been in the field of economic development for the past 16 years. He has been leading the Airdrie Economic Development team for the past 14 years and prior to that was the manager of Industry Development with Calgary Inc. Kent and his team have won many provincial, national and international awards for their work over the past number of years in investment attraction, business development, and entrepreneurial programming that has helped put Airdrie in the map.

Currently is a member of the International Economic Development Advisory Committee, Kent has served as Past-President with the Economic Developers Alberta and Board Member of Economic Developers Association of Canada. He is a true believer of regional economic development and has been involved with the Calgary Regional Partnership (CRP) from its inception and has served as Chairman for CRP Economic Development Forum throughout the years.

Kent had the privilege to be part of the Economic Developers of Alberta - Economic Disaster Recovery team that worked with 10 communities and local businesses that were devastated by the 2013 Calgary Region floods as well as the Fort McMurray Fires in 2016.

Kent likes to assist in improving living conditions for others and has been very active as the President of his local Food Bank, Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) as well Habitat for Humanity International.
