Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Affairs Ohio
Mark Weinberg is the founding and current dean of Ohio University's Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Affairs. He is also a professor of Leadership and Public Affairs at ,Ohio University specializing in the areas of organizational strategy and public sector value creation. In 2002, he was named the Appalachian Regional Commission's Whisman Scholar and served in that capacity for three years. Mark received his undergraduate and master's degrees from the University of Maryland and his doctorate from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
As the Voinovich School reaches a milestone 10-year anniversary this year, it has achieved significant benchmarks in impact and innovation for the region, state and nation. As the founding dean of the Voinovich School, Mark led the formation of Tech GROWTH Ohio, a major partnership program with Ohio Third Frontier, generating nearly $400 million in economic activity for the region and launched public private partnerships in conjunction with the state of Ohio and Ohio University, contributing nearly $1.8 billion in economic activity to the region since 2012. As noted by Mike Smith, Dean, School of Government at the University of North Carolina, the Voinovich School is a "best-in-class example of engaged scholarship- taking knowledge from research in multiple disciplines and applying it to address the most pressing challenges facing communities in Ohio."
