David J. Robinson is Founder and Principal of The Montrose Group, LLC, a consulting company that provides corporate site location, economic development planning and government relations services through a multi-disciplinary model based upon the mantra that relationships matter. David Robinson is experienced in both the government relations and economic development consulting fields through over twenty years as an advocate, lobbyist, public relations and government official. He has successfully negotiated dozens of corporate site location projects in Ohio, Missouri, Kansas, Texas, Arizona, Nevada, Iowa, North Carolina and Indiana, developed dozens of economic development and site development strategic plans, represents dozens of clients before the local, state and federal government and represented clients on land use entitlements, tax incentives and infrastructure finance matters tied to industrial, logistics, office and residential projects and serves multiple clients for Opportunity Zone projects. Before forming The Montrose Group, LLC, David managed a government relations and economic development practice group for nearly a decade in large law firms, served in the Ohio House of Representatives, at Ameritech Ohio working on economic development and policy matters, as Press Secretary for Columbus Mayor Greg Lashutka, and general counsel for the Ohio Chamber of Commerce. David Robinson is the author of two economic development textbooks, Economic Development from the State & Local Perspective, and The Energy Economy both published by Palgrave MacMillan. He has served as an Adjunct Professor at The Ohio State University Glenn School of Public Affairs and Bowling Green State University to teach an economic development course. Mr. Robinson also worked with clients to develop comprehensive economic development strategies for two dozen communities. Mr. Robinson is a graduate of Bowling Green State University, the Moritz College of Law and the Fisher School of Business Advanced Management Program at The Ohio State University.
