Josie Bacallao is President & CEO of Hispanic Unity of Florida (HUF) an organization dedicated to guiding individuals on their journey toward their American dream. HUF is a 36-year old nonprofit serving 18,000 individuals from more than 30+ countries every year. The agency’s key program areas are: Education, Economic Development and Civic Engagement. Prior to joining the not-for-profit sector, Josie worked at several corporations. Immediately prior to joining HUF she served as Vice President/Marketing Director for the Sun-Sentinel Company and worked for The Miami Herald/el Nuevo Herald as their VP/Marketing for more than 25 years. She serves on numerous boards including two economic development boards- the Greater Ft. Lauderdale Alliance and CareerSource Broward. She also has served as a board member for two chambers of commerce and two financial institution advisory boards.
