Alexandra (Alex) Villoch is East Region Publisher for McClatchy, a national news media company. She supervises operations at the Miami Herald Media Company – which includes the Miami Herald and Spanish-language el Nuevo Herald newspapers – as well as the Bradenton Herald in Florida; The (Macon) Telegraph and the (Columbus) Ledger-Enquirer in Georgia; the (Biloxi) SunHerald in Mississippi; the Lexington Herald-Leader in Kentucky; and the Centre Daily Times in State College, Pennsylvania.

Ms. Villoch previously served as President and Publisher of the Miami Herald Media Company from 2014 to 2017. Under her leadership, the Miami Herald was awarded two Pulitzer Prizes. She also served as Senior Vice President for Advertising and Marketing from 2005 to 2014. Prior to joining the Miami Herald, she was the General Manager for Miami International Airport & the Caribbean for United Airlines.

Villoch is a past-Chair of The Beacon Council, Miami Dade County’s economic development agency; Chair Emeritus of the One Community One Goal Initiative of The Beacon Council; member of the Board of Governors of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce; and past-Chair of the United Way’s Women’s Leadership Initiative. She is currently on the board of the Center for Leadership at FIU. Villoch was honored with the 2012 International Economic Development Council’s Citizen Leadership Award, which recognizes leaders who plays a key role in the economic development of their community. She holds a B.A. in Political Science and an MBA from the University of Miami, and resides with her husband in the city of Coral Gables.
